From Deanery meetings in
Adirondack, Clinton, Essex, Hamilton/Herkimer, & Lewis Deaneries:
- It sounds like a worth while
program if we could get people to participate. My daughter-in-law is
Christian/Buddist. She comes to church with our son. I would like to see
more openings to “listening” and eventually become a Catholic Universal Church
first and down the line truly Catholic people.
- A great program!
- I believe this will help active
Catholics to understand their faith better but will not draw many inactive
Catholics.
- Sounds very interesting and
promising.
- I think it’s neat. It’s
expensive but well organized. Adult formation is so needed. I like the
emphasis on parents & children.
- Excellent!
- Exactly what we needSeems good. Good content.
Comes across as rather complex and expensive.
- Positive – much needed in our
parish. It may be the tool to bring people back to church and a good sharing
experience for the parish community and a good education.
- We are impressed. However, we
may not be able to afford $150 per month. We’ll let you know more after we
explore funding possibilities.
- Excellent
- Structure of the program is
good. Leadership will be important in light of losing our present pastor.
The new pastor will need time to get to know his parishioners and parishes.
Well organized program. Could be very effective in time. Program seems
somewhat rigid and expensive over time. Newman Center may have more specific
needs related to college students.
- We’ve had small groups in past
years but they focused primarily on the weekly readings. We liked the fact
that this program focuses on the Catechism of the Catholic Church. We were
already using the program out of Hartford, CT. We will certainly discuss this
program with our new pastor when he comes.
- I am going to be in Gouverneur
in one week. I don’t know how people there feel but from my initial contacts,
there is a need to spread the faith – reenergize the parish – grow its
involvement in active Catholic living. This looks like a good program. I
have used the Hartford, Connecticut program for many years and find it
excellent. I like this. Signed Rev. Floyd Bleaux
- Thus may be what the adult
Catholics are looking for in regards to enlightening their faith.
- There will be a new pastor as
of July 1, 2006.
- We are looking forward to it!!
- We had a discussion on how to
implement. We are looking forward to participating in this program.
- The consensuses is that this
program will be very worthwhile.Wonderful program – just what
the parish needs (Fr. Scott) RCIA for all (W. Schmitt). A good tool to
help people reach insider themselves and to reach out to others (S. Fahey)
- Enthusiastic! We are hungry
for faith development.
- We love it! We know our pastor
wants it. He will be at the Jefferson Deanery meting because he has a church
in both deaneries. My people have had an
opportunity for similar sharing. They preferred to go to a restaurant instead
for coffee and donuts. Need to get enthusiasm going somehow. It sounds exciting. We need
something every now and then. Liked retreat idea and some of the extras. It is a good message but we’ll
see if it is possible or not.Exactly what we needPositive – much needed in our

- We found this material holds
great promise to getting our unchurched involved and participating. Also to
get our church groups more active.
