The Parish Administrative Service Office provides the parishes with the following assistance:
- Audit financial records of parishes, schools and related entities for compliance with Diocesan policies and to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Review annual parish financial reports to determine discrepancies or inconsistencies to review with pastor.
- Respond (by phone, email or written letter) to parishes request for assistance, which generally includes: general bookkeeping and reconciliations, payroll, interpretation of state and federal regulations, annual report preparation, budgeting, etc.
- The office is available to attend day and evening meetings as necessary to discuss proper bookkeeping procedures and audit report recommendations with pastors, parish staff and parish finance councils.
- Evaluate and assist parishes and schools desiring to implement or change computerized accounting systems to QuickBooks Financial Software. Also, will assist in recommending computer hardware for purchase.
